Original mid century 1946 large pencil drawing. Depicts a portrait of a crying child as he watches a dragonfly fly close to him. Well done with clean lines and nice capture of emotion. Medium is graphite on paper done in an Impressionist style. Signed, inscribed and dated in the bottom right corner; reads Harry L. Flentoje, The Chesterfields, Chester - Conn., Sept. 1946 . Quite worthy of further research. Protected behind glass and framed in an antique period molded wood frame with gold gilded interior. Reverse side backed with old pine boards. Ready to hang. Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer. In Good overall condition. Exhibits gentle wear and soiling; no holes, rips or tears.
