VINTAGE POINTILISM DRAWING OF CAT
Bill Neal 1975 Cat Pointillism Framed and Matted Drawing. This listing is for a vintage Bill Neal pointillism drawing of a cat and dragonfly. A friendly cat cautiously watching a dragonfly. This original, signed and dated Bill Neal work was created in 1975, one of his earlier pieces of his art of animals. It is matted on a white art cardboard and measures 7 by 4.5 inches. It has an original silver frame, measures: 12" x 11".
Bill Neal is perhaps best known for his cowboy genre paintings, but is also eagerly collected for his wildlife studies as in this charming cat, as well as other woodland creatures such as fawns and rabbits.
More about the artist: A long time resident of Arizona, Idaho, Bill Neal began his cowboy life in the Tonto Basin after finishing high school, Young High. Until he moved to Idaho in 1972, he continued to cowboy on ranches in Arizona, Nevada and Montana. In the 1977 he began painting seriously. He has studied with Gary Carter and other cowboy artists and attended California art workshops.Bill Neal's paintings have been exhibited at many shows including the C.M. Russell Show, the Oregon Trails National, the National Western Art Show, the Western Art Roundup and the Phippen Art Show. Neal has won significant awards in these exhibitions. He also has some of his artwork displayed on greeting cards from the Leaning Tree Card Company.
