Wonderful, highly detailed charcoal pencil portrait of a girl or young woman in curls wearing a dress with a bow. American, probably 2nd half of the 19th century. Purchased from a New Hampshire estate. Unsigned. The frame is also antique but probably more recent than the drawing.
The drawing has not been examined outside of the frame. The frame is wired to be hung. The paper on the back of the frame is peeling off. The piece could stand to be reframed but is find and stable as is.
Dimensions are approximately 9" tall, 6" wide.
