J. C. LEYENDECKER AUTHENTIC PENCIL DRAWING CIRCA 1900 for Wagner Opera Love Songs Shown for sale is one of many original drawing that were deaccessioned from the Delaware Art Museum and sold through Heritage Auctions! This pencil study along with many others were donated to the Delaware Art Museum after the death of a J. C. collector. This study or storyboard by Leyendecker was published and used for the "Love Songs of the Wagners Opera". Artwork measures 10 3/4" x 19" and was drawn by Leyendecker on a thick piece of grey board. The image at the left end matches the title page for Opera as shown, the second image pictures a man in costume looking up at star and the last image looks like an image from Truth magazine for "The Rubaiyat". "Of Note", none of the color magazine images shown come with sale, they are from my personal collection and not for sale! This authentic piece of art is unsigned but can easily be identified through Heritage Auctions or AskArt site. CONDITION Art drawing shows age tone, scattered soiling, edge wear and a crease from top to bottom, stabilized from back scattered lite soiling! Despite all, the piece presents well! Of note I put a piece of archival book binding tape on reverse to prevent the crease from causing anymore wear to image which you cannot see from front. GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED! I have been on ebay for 24 years with 100% Positive feedback and guarantee everything I see as described. Everything was purchased and owned by myself and is in my varied collection of Paintings, Posters, Prints, Magazine art etc. Track Page Views With Auctiva's Counter
