ANIMALS, FISH, BIRDS, AND BUTTERFLYS IN ART - A GRAND SITE: SHEEP - an original two sided drawing on one sheet (recto Sheep and verso Horses and Donkeys) c.1930 by German Artist Julies Rosenbaum (1897 - 1956).  In good condition, there is some time staining and minor creasing near the margin, with an image size of  10 x 8 and on wove cream colored paper. These drawings were made at the Berlin Zoo around 1930. Julies Rosenbaum was a listed German Painter, printmaker, and teacher. He was born in Neuenberg, Germany. He was forbidden to paint by the Nazis causing he and his wife to flee to London in 1939. Rosembaum continued to paint in England until his death in 1956. His wife, Adele Reifenberg, ran a private art school inEngland and painted and exhibited in her own right. Century Artist. The present drawing came from a working sketch book (the cover of which contains Rosenbaum stamp and address in Germany - see picture of stamp and cover). A copy of the stamp page will be sent with the drawing. Rosenbaum thought enough of these drawings to bring them from Germany to England.
