The shaft of each Mikado writing instrument is made up of 17 polished stainless steel rods. The point is extended or retracted by twisting the shaft. The stainless steel stems then rotate around the shaft, stretch, and taper in the middle as the point clicks into place.
The Mikado . Uses the smooth writing Parker style ballpoint cartridges. One ballpoint cartridge is included, installed in the pen.
