This is an amazing pencil from Munich Germany. Made in the 1800’s - this little gem has a tile in the center - possibly the Frauenkirche. It says “Munchen”and stamped Alpacca. The bottom is old brass and hold the pencil München in Germany, which means "Home of the Monks" and refers to its origins at the Benedictine monastery at Tegernsee, which was probably founded in 750 CE.Alpaca silver, also known as German silver, was developed in 1823 as the result of a German competition held with the goal of developing an alloy that had the most visual similarity to silver.
