ABOUT THE ARTIST
He was born in Havana on June 8, 1926.
He graduated as a professor of painting and drawing at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in 1948, and that same year he traveled to the United States to continue his studies.
In the year 1953 he was part of a group of eleven artists who founded a group "Los eleven" exhibiting collectively for two years until its dissolution in 1955.
From this moment he continued his artistic work, exhibiting individually and collectively and acquiring maturity in his work.
He worked as a designer, illustrator and caricaturist for various magazines and newspapers, including Bohemia and UPEC Magazine.
Thus, he is also a founding member of the ICAIC film industry and institute, developing a broad curriculum in credit and animation design, becoming animation director and member of its National Design Commission.
He is a founding member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and a member of the executive of the Plastic Arts section of the same, and a founding member of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC).
