WearEver Lever Filler Fountain Pen Year: c. mid-1930's Color : Re d Veined Grey Pearl pattern Length Capped: 5 11/16" long Mater ial : Celluloid Nib Siz e : Fine Nib Material : Iridium tipped plated stainless steel Filling System : Lever Details & Descriptions Cap and Barrel This WearEver pen-pencil combo is in overall good condition with nice coloring, a chased cap band, plated trimmings and no cracks or personalization. The cap and barrel have some light surface scratches. The clip is firm, the clip, cap band, and lever have some wear and brassing, as shown in the photos. The pencil cone has a bit of wear and brassing, as shown. The pen side has been cleaned, a new ink sac and a new two-tone nib have been installed. The pencil mechanism is fully functional, advancing the lead and retracting it. The pencil has lead. Nib The two-tone iridium tipped plated stainless steel nib is fine . The nib is new with crisp, clear imprints and ample tipping material. The nib wrote very well during the pen's ink test. A photo of the ink test has been included for reference. Restoration Work The cap has been s oft bristle brushed The feed have been ultrasonically cleaned A new ink sac has been installed with 100% pure medical grade talcum powder The combo has been buffed with a water-based micro polish The pen has been ink and water tested This pen is ready for ink The pencil is loaded with lead and is ready to write This is a nice example of a WearEver lever filler fountain pen and twist mechanical pencil combo with no obvious material flaws that would hinder its use. This is an 85+ year old vintage pen so you can expect:
