silver novelty telescoping, retractable, ruler pencil, extends to a 12 inch ruler, marked rofeco, original lead and original box. most of the ones i see on this site are super fancy, sterling silver Tiffany & Co. or late 1800's early 20th century and they are all kind of dinged up. this one is pretty pristine. its got the shine. i don't know if its chromed or stainless steel or brass or just plain old silver metal- there are no markings except name. the other examples of this i've found on the web were made in the 30's, 40's and 1950s. some in US occupied Germany. all from Bavaria. the box is definitely from the 50's or before. everything on this pencil works smoothly. the eraser is toast of course. the only real blemishes are in the last picture- 4 little marks. otherwise pretty much pristine. perfect for measuring stuff, people with really big hands, giants, pointing at stuff or poking out some damn troublemaker's eyeball. holler wiyh any questions, doug
