VINTAGE Pencil Drawing "The Miner" By "Joseph Fourbears" 1978 Western Art. Joseph Fourbears is a renowned Northwest Native American Artist. His works have truly evolved over the years. This a very early work of his art form. I spoke with Mr. forebears and he told me this was a piece of work he was doing as a deep study in a form of depth of graphite art. I have tried to show the "Depth" in the images. The last photo is of a vintage image that inspired the work. The business card reflects the pricing of the sale in 1978 in his Gallery at the time. Joseph graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. He worked for 18 years as a commercial artist for companies including Perma-Trans Products in Columbus, Ohio, Phot-Lith International in Stanton, California and Monarch Publications. While at Photo-Lith and Monarch he was not only their lead artist, but also Art Director and Production Manager. The list of clients for whom he has developed licensed designs is impressive and includes The Grateful Dead, Electric Light Orchestra, Alice Cooper, Average White Band, The Spinners, Seals and Crofts, Elvin Bishop, Peter Frampton, Kiss, Outlaws, Elton John, Greg Allman, Marshall Tucker, Jeff Beck, Charlie’s Angels, Suzanne Sommers, and Jacques Cousteau. He designed the entire art package for the John Travolta Fan Club.

He was also included in the Native American Artists show at the University of California, Channel Islands. He is currently showing at The Old Town Frame Shop and Gallery in Silverdale, Washington. He has been a paratrooper, bar tender, gold miner, commercial artist, fine artist, fireman, safety inspector, published poet, gardener and lover of the natural world.
