The Skywriter Fountain Pen & Mechanical Pencil Brand and Year: Aiken Lambert by LE Waterman c. late 1930's - early 40's Model: The Skywriter - 1st generation Filling System: Lever and twist mechanism Color: Silver Pearl and Black Striped Length: 5 1/8" long, pencil 4 7/8" long Nib: Fine Flexible iridium tipped stainless steel. Very nice condition with ample tipping material and just a bit of minor surface wear. The "flexible" nib provides feedback when writing, line variation is negligible. Condition: Both are in very nice overall condition, no cracks or personalization. Both the pen and pencil have nice silver pearl and black striping. Both have very minor micro scratches to the barrels and caps. The visulated section has a touch of ambering. The pen barrel has a crisp and clear THE SKYWRITER over AIKEN LAMBERT over Made in USA by over LE WATERMAN CO. The clip and cap band of the pen are firm with minimal wear. Similarly, the pencil's clip is firm and the clip, cap band and nose cone have a hint of wear. The pen has been cleaned, a new ink sac installed and it's ready for ink. The pencil has lead, no eraser and it advances and retracts the lead. Restoration Work The pen cap has been s oft brushed clean Nib and feed have been ultrasonically cleaned A new ink sac has been installed with 100% pure medical grade talcum powder The pen and pencil have been lightly buffed with a water-based micro polish The pen has been water tested and fills well This pen is ready for ink The pencil is ready to write This is a nice example of lever filler fountain pen with no obvious material flaws that would hinder its use. This is a 80+ year old vintage pen so you can expect:
